What is CBD?
CBD, short for Cannabidiol, is an organic compound found in industrial hemp and the cannabis plant. CBD is considered one of many fatty compounds that are found in various plants and are produced by our bodies. These compounds, specifically known as cannabinoids, play an essential role in keeping the immune and central nervous system stable, despite changes in our external environment. Among the 80 different cannabinoids found in the hemp plant, CBD is the most widely accepted non-psychoactive cannabinoid with exceptional health potential.
What is the endocannabinoid system?
The human body has an endocannabinoid system (ECS) that receives and translates signals from cannabinoids. Your body continuously monitors and regulates levels and functions in your body and when they need to be adjusted your ECS system activates to help correct it. For example, when you are overheating or dehydrated, your ECS system will start to cool you down by sweating and making you feel thirsty.
A human’s endocannabinoid system affects many regions of the body, including functions of the immune system, the central nervous system (including the brain), organs, connective tissue, and glands. ECS plays an essential role in regulating: appetite, pain, inflammation, sleep, temperature, immune function, fertility, memory, and mood.
What is the entourage effect?
There are 80+ cannabinoids found in hemp that have unique properties and benefits. “The Entourage Effect” promotes using the entire spectrum of natural compounds which can be more beneficial than single-compound extracts. For example, there are several cannabinoids in the hemp plant that include CBD, CBG, CBN, CBC, and many more.
How will it affect my body?
Unlike THC, CBD is NON-psychoactive. However, CBD is known to stimulate receptors to reduce pain, anxiety, inflammation, and more. There is no “high” effect or psychoactive properties with CBD, so you don’t have to worry about your ability to perform day-to-day duties. Compared to FDA approved pharmaceuticals, side effects from CBD are insignifiant, few users have reported mild sedation or abdominal discomfort.
How much CBD should I take / is it possible to take too much?
CBD dosage depends on the individual’s unique body, health condition, and preference. People use CBD for a variety of different symptoms making a uniform dosage difficult. Severe symptoms may require a higher dosage, while mild symptoms may not need as much to see results.
Generally, CBD users start with a small dosage of 10-30 mg taken once or twice a day and increase dosage from there based on individual needs and desired effect. However, we recommend a consultation with your doctor or health professional.
Can you get high from CBD?
No, CBD will not give you a “high” effect. CBD is non-psychoactive extracted from the hemp plant that contains less than 0.3% THC, which the US Federal government recognizes as non-intoxicating. Flower of Life CBD products use an extraction process eliminating all traces of THC, while still leaving all cannabinoids in-tact.

The Federal government recognizes that industrial hemp has less than 0.3% THC, making it exempt from the Controlled Substances Act, and therefore, legal. In December 2018, the Farm Bill was signed which protects the use, possession, and sale of hemp-derived CBD products within the United States.
What’s the difference between isolate and Full Spectrum?
CBD Isolate is made from 99% pure CBD and is the only cannabinoid present, leaving it colorless, tasteless, and contains 0% THC.
Full Spectrum CBD is extracted from the stems and stalks of the hemp plant. It is considered “full-spectrum” because it incorporates CBD and all other beneficial cannabinoids, natural terpenes, amino acids, and vitamins as nature intended. This results in a darker color, natural hemp taste, and less than 0.3% THC.

All Flower of Life CBD products are completely THC free except for our hemp cans and hemp pre-rolls. Our cans and pre-rolls are under the legal limit of 0.3% THC, however there is no guarantee that this will not show up on a drug test as there are still minimal traces of THC. It would depend on how much and how often you smoke and varies by individual. There are some testing facilities that screen for a spectrum of cannabinoids, which could trigger a false positive. If this concerns you, we suggest contacting the testing facility and asking what cannabinoids they test for.
